The Chelsea Flower Show Comes To Your Wardrobe

The Chelsea flower show comes to your wardrobe

It's the highlight of the gardening calendar and the RHS Chelsea Flower show seems to herald the start of summer. What's more there has been a strange yellow disc we like to call the sun in the sky in recent days so now is the perfect time to introduce some floral charm into your wardrobe.

Florals and summer seem to go hand in hand and with the perfect inspiration in the form of the award winning gardens at Chelsea why not try to introduce some blooms into your style. However, just because you are adding florals into your wardrobe doesn't mean that you need to go all chintzy and grannyish. Instead, floral looks can be brought bang up to date with a few key looks.

Go big and bold

On the spring/summer 2013 catwalks floral designs were everywhere but is wasn't the small chintzy designs that were available it was big and bold designs that stole the limelight.  From the gorgeous Prada daisy prints which took fashion editors by storm to the pretty cut out floral designs at Valentino there was a range of great yet bold floral designs.

Head to toe florals

A lot of the runways at the Spring/summer 2013 catwalks had head to toe floral designs. The look is perfect for summer weddings but if you are going for head to toe florals it may be a good idea to go for a slightly smaller print as this is more flattering then a big bold print - it is also a more versatile way of channelling the trend.

Think about fabrics

So think summery cottons and silks or why not a pretty lace with a floral design. The fabrics you choose can make or break your floral outfit as you want to look and feel comfortable but also you will look great at the same time.

Accessorise

If head to toe florals aren't your thing a perfect way to get a bit of Chelsea style is with some great accessories. Things like flirty women's scarves and great costume jewellery will add a touch of floral glamour without feeling too chintzy or ditzy.

A floral silk scarf can be a versatile addition to your wardrobe as you could wear it round your
neck for work or why not channel the Great Gatsby and wear it as a head piece. While costume jewellery in floral designs can look fab and will make you feel like you have come straight off the catwalk.
