Top Costume Jewellery Trends for any Wedding Guest

Here at MizEllie we've started to be inundated with summer wedding invites and with the wedding season nearly upon us it's time to start planning that all important outfit. This spring/summer there are loads of great trends you can channel to ensure you look your best this season – from graphic prints, to shiny metallics, to chic pencil skirts and fluorescents to sexy 60s looks there is a look for everyone this year. However, as we all know the wedding season can be an expensive time so if you want to update your current wardrobe so it looks up to date for whatever party you have to attend this spring/summer the simplest way is with fashion jewellery.

A great piece of costume jewellery can really take a wedding guest outfit from OK to wow in an instant. But what key trends should you be looking for?

Statement jewellery

If there is one jewellery trend to channel this year it has to be bold statement jewellery – from the catwalks of Jean Paul Gautier, Dolce & Gabbana, Etro, and Balmain (to name just a few) there were a number of bold, eye-catching designs.

While celebs such as Made in Chelsea's Millie Mackintosh (who wore a statement collar necklace in shades of grey to the recent Rodial Beautiful Awards) and IT model Cara Delevingne and best friend Rita Ora (who are often seen in bold pieces and have recently bought matching best friend necklaces) have also been showcasing the trend.

From striking chandelier earrings to bold necklaces a statement piece of fashion jewellery will take even the dullest outfit from blah to fab and will make sure that you look on-trend at any wedding you go to.

What's more statement costume jewellery really gives you the perfect chance to showcase your personality without going overboard.

Spiked costume jewellery

It comes from the statement trend but spiked fashion jewellery is set to be a massive trend this spring/summer. Not for the faint hearted a spiked necklace, ring or bracelet could toughen up an otherwise girly outfit but just make sure you keep the rest of the look sleek to counteract the toughness a bit.

1920s

With the Great Gatsby on the way and the ever wonderful Downton Abbey due back on our screens in the autumn (here at MizEllie we're looking forward to both!) there is a real 1920s feel to fashion trends so think art nouvelle and art deco costume jewellery pieces which will add a pretty touch to your wedding outfit.
